According to the Food and Drugs (Composition and Labelling) Regulations (Cap. 132W), prepackaged food must be marked or labeled with an appropriate shelf life, and the expiry date is a mandatory item on food labels. This date helps consumers determine the best time to consume the food for health and safety reasons.
